Our History

Daiso started back in 1972 in Japan when Mr Hirotake Yano opened his first street vending shop, selling 100YEN Products. He later founded Daiso in 1977 and it has grown to over 5500 incredible stores across the globe today. Daiso arrived in Australia in 2010, the first store was opened in Richmond Victoria, it has gain the attention of the Australian consumer right from that moment and that fascination has continued. By 2022 we have grown to 42 stores in 5 states with 13 stores in Queensland, 12 stores in New South Wales, 13 stores in Victoria, 3 stores in South Australia and 1 store in Western Australia.

Our Products

Daiso prides itself on products, stocking over 100,000 different lines across the stores around the world. In Australia, we stock over 25,000 lines, ranging from Food, Beauty, Stationery, Kitchen, Cleaning and many more categories. Customers enjoy looking here and there for special products, discovering the everyday to the unusual. Providing quality, variety and uniqueness. This is what we do at Daiso. We create stores that help our customers “find surprises and fun” in a way that is unrivalled.

Our Stores

In Queensland there are 13 stores: Cairns, Chermside, Myer Centre Brisbane, Adelaide St Brisbane, Indooroopilly, Sunnybank Plaza, Sunnybank Hills, Mt Gravatt, Australia Fair, Willows Townsville, Robina, Loganholme and Ipswich.

In New South Wales there are 12 stores; Charlestown, Mandarin Centre, Macquarie Centre,  Regent Place Sydney, Burwood, Central Park, Marrickville, Lidcombe, Parramatta, Blacktown, Hornsby and Bondi Junction.

In Victoria there are 13 stores: Glen Waverley, Midtown Plaza, Doncaster, Box Hill, Highpoint, Eastland,  Werribee, Dandenong, Chadstone, QV, Flinders St Melbourne, Northland and Fountain Gate.

In South Australia there are 3 stores: Hollywood Plaza, Marion and Rundle Mall Adelaide.

In Western Australia, there is 1 Store: Carousel Cannington
