Having a Halloween dress-up party at your place but need some last-minute spookware to really get the party started? A quick trip to DAISO will turn you into the host with the most.
You’ve probably been so busy trying to work out what to feed your fright night guests (so many options!) that you’ve left your costume to the last minute. Solution: pull your chicest blackest of black outfits from the wardrobe and style it up with a few Halloween accessories.
Freak out guests with fingers, fangs and fake blood
Tip: Fake blood can get messy, so when applying it make sure you do so with a paintbrush (available in the craft aisle).
Tip: Apple bobbing is so much more fun when you make your guests wear fangs!
Be the purrfect host
Tip: Increase your feline charms by teasing your hair before putting on your ears (they’ll stay in better), and make sure you pick up some eyeliner from DAISO’s makeup aisle to give yourself cat eyes. Check out Thalita Makes’s easy smokey cat eye tutorial.
Halloween masquerade, anyone?
Tip: We’re all for being big kids at Halloween, but if you’re sticking to a more adult vibe make your party a Halloween masquerade party. These masks are just right for a goblin king’s ball.
Eye scream, you scream … for DAISO’s awesome lashes!
Tip: Remember to pick up your eyelash glue from DAISO’s beauty aisle!
Top off your black with a hat
Tip: Hats can get a little warm in the Australian climate. If you need to take yours off and get some air in your hair, make sure you’ve teased your hair and put a few plastic bugs in it for good measure. (Plastic bugs available in DAISO’s toy aisle).
Once you have yourself Halloween’d up in style, it’s time to make sure your Halloween spread has all the finishing touches.
Your freakish friends will be spending a whole lot of time lurking at the snack table, and nothing is more inviting than a table spread end-to-end with Halloween everything.
Drinkware ~ propose a toast to the spirit of Halloween
Tip: Plastic bugs add a beastly surprise to your guest’s drinks. Place a large bug in each cup as you stack them, and watch the looks of terror on your guest’s faces when they see bugs float up when they pour their drinks.
Serviettes ~ Sticky fingers be gone
Tip: Wrap each guest’s cutlery in a serviette. Here’s a cute idea to create cutlery bowties. All you need is cutlery, serviettes and ribbon or washi tape (available in DAISO’s craft aisle).
Lolly bags ~ give your ghouls a sweet thanks for coming
Tip: Lollies are a favourite, but ghosts and ghouls and other guests love non-edibles too. DAISO has a leprechaun’s lair worth of tiny gifts to fit in these bags. Think wrapped soaps, kawaii erasers, makeup, mini highlighters … the list goes on. You’re only limited by your imagination.
Deck the halls with Halloween
Tip: Don’t want people going into your bedroom crypt while the party’s on? Shut the door, string bunting across the doorway, and hang a No Entry sign on it.
